Bradford-on-Avon Markets

Bradford on Avon Weekly Market

"Bradford on Avon market is held in the centre of this bustling town every Thursday, located in Bridge Street car park adjacent to the River Avon and the library. The pretty market town can be best viewed from this location, with its tiers of weavers cottages built in the golden bath stone plus the town's bridge with its lock up featuring the gudgeon as it's weather vane. The market has approximately 12 stalls and sells cheese, fresh friut and vegetables, organic bread, fruit and vegetables, qaulity poultry, meat and free range eggs, fresh fish, homemade cakes, pies, quiches, pate and ready meals, olives and bread, plants and flowers."

Bradford on Avon Artisan Market

"New for Bradford on Avon, a monthly Farmers' & Artisan Market to be held in Lamb Yard and the riverside. The market will combine a wonderful selection of locally produced food, drink and plants with a multitude of artisan products.

The offering from the farmers' market will include quality, locally grown, reared or made and well priced seasonal fruit and vegetables, meats (some rare breeds and/or organic), cured meats, cheeses, eggs, bread, honey and honey based products, preserves, delicious sweet and savoury baked goods, chillies and chilli sauces, oils, locally marinaded olives, juices and plants – all sold by the producer or someone closely involved in their business.

Traders for the Artisan market are still to be confirmed but we are hoping to be able offer lavender products, pottery, stained glass, dog treats, locally made children's clothes with pre-loved fabrics – all as a compliment to the already popular, Made in Bradford on Avon shop which is located on the site and sells beautifully crafted items made by Bradford on Avon people and the surrounds. There are also a number of other shops nearby and coffee shops so people will be able to relax with friends and family and generally soak up the market atmosphere.

WFMA already run a number of markets in the county but a Sunday market combining a farmers' market with artisan producers is a new venture. “For a town like Bradford on Avon it makes sense to hold a market on a day when people aren't away at work” said Sue Thomson, WFMA Administrator “ and it's a wonderful site for a market. We've had so much help and support from local groups and the Councils we're really looking forward to getting the market going – whatever the weather.”"
